What is XF alpha solder wire sac305?
The alpha solder wire SAC305 is a lead free solder wire that contains no need and comply with ROHS regulation. It contains 96.5% of tin, 3.0% of silver and remaining 0.5% is copper. It's the best quality solder among the lead free solder wires for electronic soldering purpose, as the high silver content at 3.0% greatly improve the electrical conductivity and improve the solder-ability.
How many options of XF alpha solder wire SAC305?
We XF Solder has two options of alpha solder wire SAC305:
Type 1: Rosin flux core alpha solder wire SAC305. This solder wire is equipped with a rosin based flux in the core, generally at nominal 2.0%. So there's no need to apply external flux when you use this alpha solder wire SAC305, it's handy and easy for most of the users, and can help to improve the solder speed a lot because it's a 2-in-1 solder. And what's more, the rosin flux core is a no clean core, as rosin is made from pine tree and it's a neutral material, after soldering, there's very little, clear and non corrosive residue left, so no need to remove the residue in particular in most of the cases.
Type 2: Solid core alpha solder wire SAC305. With this type of solder wire, the users need to prepare the flux in separate to be used together with the solder core alpha solder wire. It's a bit troublesome and conventional, but in some applications that is done by automatic soldering, the solder robot is not able to detect if the residue needs to be removed in case using a rosin flux alpha solder wire, thus it's more safe and reasonable to use a solid core solder wire and apply the flux in separate. Also in some cases, multiple soldering at one area is needed, if it's a rosin flux core alpha solder wire, though the residue a limited but this might affect the 2nd or 3rd time soldering.
